UNLOCKING THE TEENAGE BRAIN

Unlocking the teenage brain and provides information on teen behaviors, the limbic system, the pre-frontal cortex, neurotransmitters, the peak social brain, and tools to support teens. ​ It also introduces the concept of emotional regulation and the SCARF framework for activating the reward response in social situations. ​ Unlocking the teenage brain emphasizes the importance of supporting teen brain development and helping teens feel safe for their overall development and success. ​

Each webinar will be held twice a day, at 9:00 am and at 3:30 pm for 30 minutes LIVE via Zoom. They will be recorded and housed on CFWV's YouTube channel for later viewing.  CFWV welcomes counselors, administrators, educators, and business partners to join. Register for one topic or all topics in the series. Please note that each date in the series will have a unique ZOOM link. Therefore, participants must register for each session that they plan to attend. Be sure to check your inboxes/spam boxes for your registration email as it will have the link to the Zoom training.

POSITIVE YOUTH DEVELOPMENT 101: FREE ONLINE SELF-PACE COURSED

These self-paced courses are designed for new youth work professionals, volunteers, and advocates and consist of six 30-minute standalone topics in PYD, including Principles of PYD, Puberty and Adolescence, Youth and Technology, Youth Development Programming, Youth Voice and Engagement and Youth Work Ethics. Courses were created by ACT for Youth at Cornell University.

MANDATED REPORTER COURSE

Anyone who works with or supports children in any way has the ethical responsibility and the legal obligation to act when they suspect a child is being abused or neglected. 

This training will prepare you to recognize and respond appropriately and legally when you encounter suspected cases of child maltreatment.

LEARN HOW TO PREVENT CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE

Video modules on how to prevent child sexual abuse. The three videos detail an introduction and overview of sexual abuse prevention, how to recognize and respond to child sexual abuse, and preventative and protective factors.
