Success isn’t about what you accomplish in your life. It’s about what you inspire others to do.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to Inspire, Develop & Nurture youth & their network to foster stronger, more connected communities.
OUR VISION
We envision a thriving West Virginia that has become
the model for positive change in youth
& community development.

At-risk youth are often impacted by generational poverty and/or adverse childhood experiences and struggle to imagine a world outside of their existing economic, social, and familial structures. They often lack adequate family and community support outside the school day to overcome these barriers, resulting in poor school attendance, academic underachievement, and possibly risky behaviors. They may have experienced school suspensions, adjudication issues, substance abuse, self-harm as well as mental health issues. These youth can overcome and thrive with the support of trained, caring adults.

ABOUT OUR WORK
Our goal is to bridge the disconnect between the school system, families, and the community. IDN will accomplish this by training and supporting youth serving adults within our community partner organizations to support at-risk youth via a best practice approach.
We do this using a three-pronged approach:
-
Establishing & Advancing Best Practices (in Youth Development)
-
Training Mentors, Volunteers and Youth Leaders
-
Supporting our Youth Development Network (through resources and follow-up)

We exist to challenge the status quo and
inspire youth to find and achieve their WHY.
IDN seeks to change the trajectory of at-risk youth from at-risk to youth engaged in growth and perseverance not only in school but also in the community. The mission is carried out through training and building the capcity of youth serving adults in success-coaching, mentoring, and connencting with community resources, including support networks and mental health professionals.
